Rikuzen Takata Christ Church

It was because an American soldier gave me a gospel tract that I went to Mizuho Christ Church and got saved. At Bethel Mission Training Center I studied the Bible. After my studies, I was sent as a missionary-pastor to the Tohoku region. There was no church in Iwate prefecture. We were guided to Rikuzen Takada city, a place called ‘The Tibet of Japan’. It was here that I and my wife, Emiko, started our missionary life. In July of 1965 (Showa year 40), we began the ‘Tenmaku'(tent) Evangelical Crusade through which many people got saved. Through God’s amazing power, our new church building was erected and was consecrated in July, 1983. We are truly grateful to God for protecting and saving us, especially during the Tohoku earthquake. We strongly believe that He has great plans for our church.
